A shroud is a cloth that involves a dead body. But, a long time ago, a shroud had been found and it curiously didn’t seem to be a simple old cloth: some people believed it was the linen cloth that involved Jesus Christ’s body, after the crucifixion. During this time, the shroud had already been in a lot of hands, but nowadays it is kept at the Turin Cathedral, in Turin (Italy), that’s why the shroud can also be called “Shroud of Turin”.
In 1898, the humanity could see the image of the sacred old linen in black and white the image that the europeans created to Jesus on the negative for the very first time. It was possible because Secondo Pia, an amateur photographer, was allowed to take pictures of it while it was being exhibited in the Turin Cathedral. The image we see is very similar to the image of Jesus created by the europeans on the Middle Ages, but considering that Jesus was born in the current Middle East, his appearence might be different, consequently there is the possibility of the shroud not be what some religious think.

The science has already tried to solve this mystery by tests with carbon to find out the age of the shroud and by the test we couldn’t have yet accurate result. So, the mystery is still alive.
